1. Is RCMC mandatory for all exporters?

While you can export without an RCMC, it is absolutely mandatory if you want to claim any government subsidies, tax exemptions, or benefits under the Foreign Trade Policy.

2. What is the validity of the RCMC Certificate?

Generally, an RCMC is valid from the 1st of April of the licensing year in which it is issued and remains valid for a period of 5 years. However, members need to pay an annual renewal fee to keep it active.

3. Can I have more than one RCMC?

Yes, if you deal in multiple product categories (e.g., garments and spices), you can obtain RCMC from different respective councils. Alternatively, you can register with FIEO as a multi-product exporter.

4. What is the difference between Manufacturer Exporter and Merchant Exporter?

A 'Manufacturer Exporter' makes the goods themselves, whereas a 'Merchant Exporter' buys from domestic suppliers and exports. You must declare your status while applying for the RCMC.
